Who is a candidate?
No matter how old or young you feel, your face may show times you'd rather forget. Maybe you just want to
look on the outside the way you feel on the inside. Good candidates for ThreadLift , also known as the
Featherlift, are those patients who are starting to see some droopiness of the brow, cheeks, jowls and/or
neck and would like to see a lift effect, but do not want the risk, scars, or recovery of a real browlift,
facelift, or necklift operation. The ThreadLift procedure can achieve 60-70% of what a real invasive surgical
procedure can deliver. Good candidates must have realistic expectations and be prepared to follow the
postoperative recovery protocol and must be accepting of the risks. The ThreadLift may be combined with minor
surgical procedures, such as eyelid surgery, liposuction, or fat transfer; or non-surgical procedures, such as
Botox injections, Radiesse or Restylane injectables and/or photo rejuvenation treatments.
What type of anesthesia is used?
The Threadlift procedure is performed with the patient awake but under local anesthesia.
How is the procedure performed?
The threads are carefully inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin using a small needle. The placement
of the threads depends on the area needing to be lifted. As few as three threads will noticeably lift the cheeks,
and two more carefully placed threads will pull back the jowls. The neck and upper brow can also be treated using
the Threadlift.
When will I see results and how long will they last?
The effect of the treatment will continue to improve over several months as the collagen in the skin collects around
the newly placed threads and can as long As five years.
What is recovery like and are there side effects?
The Threadlift leaves no scars, takes a minimal amount of time (usually less than an hour), and usually only requires
ice following treatment. It is a procedure that is typically suited towards younger and middle-aged patients. Results are
usually achieved with only one treatment. Side effects can include some minor swelling and bruising.
What are the risks?
Complications are very rare, but can include a small pucker at the entrance of the thread, or the thread can protrude
slightly from the skin. If such side effects occur, they are easily treatable by trimming the excess thread or massaging
the skin.
What is the cost?
The cost of the procedure will be determined at your personal consultation with the surgeon and depends on many variables.
The average price for a ThreadLift is $2,000 - $3,000 per each zone - the brow, cheek-jowl and neck, depending on the number
of threads required.
