What is Vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty is a female genital surgical procedure to tighten vaginal muscles.
Vaginoplasty is any surgical procedure to construct a vagina (such as for male-to-female transsexuals), to treat structural defects, or to produce aesthetic changes. The term vaginoplasty is used to describe any such vaginal surgery, while the term neovaginoplasty is more specifically used to refer to procedures of partial or total construction or reconstruction of the vulvovaginal complex.
Risks:
The most common risks of surgery may include bleeding, infection, and scarring, however these are very unusual.
Length of Surgery:
1 to 2 hours
Recovery:
Vaginoplasty is an outpatient procedure usually performed under local anesthesia or mild sedation. After surgery, the patient is
usually able to walk comfortably within a few days and may return to sexual activities within 4-6 weeks. Full healing is about 6-8 weeks.
