What is VASER LipoSelection®?
|
|
What if you could ...
... remove your unwanted fat and experience only low to minimal pain?
... enjoy a new body contour that is smooth as well as shapely?
... reshape those trouble spots that just won't respond to diet and exercise?
VASER LipoSelection® combines new patented technology with advanced surgical techniques to break up and remove fatty tissue.
Unwanted fat can be efficiently removed from abs, arms, back, hips, knees, love handles, neck and chin, saddlebags, thighs -
any place you've developed a little "extra cushioning."
The VASER System uses ultrasound energy to break up and emulsify fat, leaving surrounding tissue - such as nerves, blood vessels
and connective tissue - relatively intact. Only the VASER LipoSelection® procedure can offer you an experience that is UltraSelective,
UltraSmooth, UltraSound!
|
|
The VASER LipoSelection® Difference
|
|
The VASER LipoSelection® procedure uses the VASER System's patented innovative ultrasound technology for fatty tissue emulsion and proprietary
cannulae designed to minimize tissue trauma during aspiration. Because nerves and blood vessels are largely undisturbed, patients and physicians
report low to minimal pain and bruising. Moreover, the VASER LipoSelection® procedure allows physicians to work with such precision that they can
shape delicate areas like the inner thighs, arms, chin and neck.
If you are among the potential millions of individuals seeking a low-pain path to a slimmer, more youthful body, VASER LipoSelection® could be the
solution for you.

|
How VASER LipoSelection® Works
|
|
The VASER Technology used for the VASER LipoSelection® procedure is efficient and
precise because the sound waves it emits break up fatty tissue while leaving
surrounding tissues largely undisturbed. Treatment with the VASER System has been
reported to produce low to minimal pain, low to minimal bruising and swelling, and
few complications.
Tissue selectivity is key:
Fatty tissue consists primarily of adipose (fat) cells, but it also contains other
important tissues, including nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue.
The VASER System utilizes proprietary ultrasound technology to break up fatty tissue before removal.
Sound energy, similar to that used to remove a cataract from the eye, fragments fatty tissue.
Fat cells, which are large and soft, break apart (think of how easily a full water balloon will
burst) while leaving nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue largely undisturbed.
Because the sound energy leaves other surrounding tissue relatively intact, patients and
physicians report low to minimal pain and low to minimal swelling and bruising.
Once emulsified, fat is removed with minimal disturbance to important structural tissue, yielding smooth results.

VASER LipoSelection® Patient Advantages
|
|
People come in all different shapes and sizes. Every body type has areas that are
predisposed to fat storage, and even with rigorous diet and exercise, those unwanted
bulges often persist. With the new patented VASER® Technology, there is now an efficient
and precise method to rid yourself of those stubborn fat deposits to reveal a shapelier
you. Doctors have reported great success in treating all of the following areas:
Cheeks, Jowls, Neck, Breasts, Abdomen, Thighs, Knees, Arms, Axilla, Back rolls, Flanks/Hips
and buttocks.

Where your surgery will be performed
|
|
LipoSelection may be performed in a surgeon's office-based facility, in an outpatient surgery
center, or in a hospital. Smaller-volume Vaser LipoSelection is usually done on an outpatient basis
for reasons of cost and convenience. However, if a large volume of fat will be removed, or
if the Vaser LipoSelection is being performed in conjunction with other procedures, a stay in a hospital
or overnight nursing facility may be required.

During VASER LipoSelection®
|
|
Sedation. Anesthesia may be general, local, or local with IV sedation - your doctor will discuss his or her
preference with you.
Infusion. Your doctor creates a tiny incision in the area to be treated. The targeted area is then filled
with a special saline solution to make it very wet and full, making the fatty tissue
easier to emulsify with the VASER System's ultrasound energy. This solution includes epinephrine,
which shrinks blood vessels to help reduce bleeding and bruising, and lidocaine, an anesthetic agent that helps numb the site.
Treatment. Your doctor then inserts a thin grooved probe that is unique to the VASER
System. The probe disperses ultrasound waves around the grooved tip to break down and emulsify fatty tissue on contact.
Aspiration. Suction and massage of the sculpted site remove emulsified tissue while leaving blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue relatively intact.

After VASER LipoSelection®
|
|
Recovery. Once the numbing effects of the anesthetic agent wear off, you may experience some discomfort.
You and your doctor will discuss whether over-the-counter and/or prescription pain medication is right for you.
Initially, expect some fluid drainage from your incisions.
Compression Garment. You will wear a compression garment home from the procedure; most doctors will require you to wear
such a garment under your clothing for a period ranging from 2-6 weeks post-operatively, depending upon the body area(s) treated
and the amount of fat removed. This will provide you with comfort and support, and will help your skin settle to your new contours.
It is critical that you follow your doctor's instructions regarding the wearing of this garment.
